Can you correct my exercise? "Ayer voy al mercado y compré mucho frutas."
L
Correction85 / 100
Ayer voy fui al mercado y compré mucho muchas frutas.
- • fui: "ayer" needs the past tense (pretérito indefinido).
- • muchas: agrees with frutas (feminine plural).
Tip: time words like ayer or la semana pasada are your cue for the past tense.
Can you tell me why "Yo soy cansado" is marked as wrong on page 65 of my Spanish A1–A2 ebook? I thought "ser" meant "to be".

Great question! Both ser and estar mean "to be", but cansado is a temporary state, so it goes with estar: "Yo estoy cansado."
Page 65 uses this rule: ser is for who you are, estar is for how you feel right now.
